My Hair Oil Experiment

Hair oils are a huge thing here in India, and hair over all. Especially for women it’s a sign of beauty and femininity. So there’s a variety of different hair oils on the market to choose from. When I think of hair and oils in the same concept, it just gives me images of dripping, oily hair, which is usually a bad thing, as I relate it to having unwashed, dirty hair. But only recently I have adopted oils in my skincare routine, and started to use Moroccan Oil in my hair styling. But here, they use the oil on the scalp and massage it on the roots of the hair to prevent hair fall and to make the hair stronger.

So I have decided to give it a try. My hair is annoyingly flat, thin and slippery Scandinavian type. So I’m not expecting any miracles, the pessimist I am. I really like Marico’s Hair & Care oil, because it has a lovely scent to it, but this time I couldn’t find it. My boyfriend used to use it all the time and it smells divine! I believe our relationship happened because of that hair oil :D. He had it on our first meeting and I was like wow, this guy smells amazeballs! Of course I wasn’t aware of what it was, only later I found it in his bathroom cabinet. I had never even heard of hair oils back then.

I bought an ayurvedic hair oil from Parachute, as I have used their pure coconut oil as well. And I have decided to use it now for a month or so and see what happens. It promises to prevent hair fall and to make the hair grow longer. Maybe my hair will be as beautiful as indian women’s hair! (As if.)
