Purple Smokey Eye Makeup Look

Purple eyeshadow makes green eyes pop, so I wanted to do a purple smokey eye makeup. I always prefer taupe, purple, burgundy or brown colors in smokey eye instead of harsh grey or black. Those shades suit blue eyes better. This makeup is perfect with my new Henry Holland for Koovs palm print dress, check out the outfit here.

I added a light lilac colour as base, then contoured the eyelids with a medium purple shade and finally did the crease and the corners of the eyes with a dark purple shade. Blending is the key here. I always add a shiny highlight colour under the brow, on the cheekbones and on the inside corners of the eyes. If you really want to go all peacock, then add a bold emerald green eyeliner on the lower lashline! Nude lips are a must with dark smokey eyes. I should have opted for a gloss instead of a matte nude, as my lips are just super dry, again :/

Whenever I do these makeup posts I’m like oh I wish I had done it better and I wish I had a better camera and I have so much to improve when it comes to applying makeup… Also I’m wearing so little if any makeup these days here in India that even little makeup seems too much all of a sudden.

Do you have any tips of how to take better pics of makeup looks? Using iPhone 6+ is probably not the best option 😀
