I am always super interested in other countries’ beauty trends and standards. In Finland I normally go for sensitive skincare products for dry scandinavian skin type. In India I tried some natural skincare ranges and went “back to basics” with preservative & color free products. I have taken the best parts with me from both worlds. From Finland my favorites are unscented skincare products. From India I have kept different types of oils and butters in my skincare routine.
Here in Singapore I’m still familiarizing myself with the local beauty ranges. But I have already been positively surprised by the products on the market! One thing I don’t like in Asian culture, especially here, the skin whitening trend is probably even more apparent than in India. All deodorants, creams and cleansers basically have whitening effect :/.
Luckily there’s something for everyone here. And for all budgets as well, even though this city is expensive otherwise. In my everyday skincare products I normally go for affordable or mid-range budget. If I want luxury items, I really have to be sure they are amazing and worth it, and that I have tested them. I’ve bought some new products here so far:
Etude House Snowy Dessert Vanilla Cupcake Hand Cream
Omg I love this brand and I regret not buying more from their shop when I visited the East Coast of Singapore. I have to order online if I want to get more from this brand. The branding is so so cute! And the fragrances of the products are like something different, sweet and girly. This is Korean brand.
These I got from Sasa, and took the help of the sales lady. She gave a discount and I like this combo for everyday moisture. The fragrance is also super subtle and sometimes I don’t even need moisturizer on top of these. These are made in Korea.
The shops are filled with these wet masks for face and eyes that are soaked in different ingredients and you just slap the sheet on your face and it has holes for the eyes and the mouth. I love them and I have some face masks from Watson’s as well. I grabbed these eye patches with collagen. I didn’t really see any difference after one use except moisture, but let’s see. This is also made in Korea.
I really like this brand (from USA) as they have a range of natural products. And the way they present the main ingredients clearly on the bottle. This body lotion is ALMOST as good as Himalaya Herbals Cocoa Butter.
I’m still looking for an under eye cream that would help with puffiness and dark circles, but haven’t found one yet. If anyone has recommendations please leave a comment :).
