Makeup Review – Mascara

Too faced better than sex mascara waterproof review

Oh the mascara! Especially important to finnish people, as we tend to have blonde, thin and straight lashes. At least I do and they don’t show anywhere without mascara.

I bought Too Faced Better than Sex mascara in waterproof because of all the great reviews out there. Well, it was sort of a mistake. Money NOT well spent.

The packaging is lovely aqua color and very cool. It’s quite heavy and has tangible water drops on its surface. The brush is big (as it’s a volumising mascara). This was the mistake I made, as I have small eyes deep in the scull and I always create a mess applying mascara with a huge brush. So not handy at all for small eyes.

The result is actually quite nice and voluminous and very black. BUT a little bit clumpy and the mascara starts to flake out onto the cheeks almost immediately. Also, it leaves marks on the upper and lower lid, when it gets in contact with oily skin :/. Hate when that happens with waterproof mascaras.

But I have found a solution: First I apply this mascara only on the upper lashes (1 coat) as it gives nice volume. Then I apply a lengthening (non-waterproof) mascara on top of that because it stops the flaking and the oil marks. I also use the non-waterproof mascara on the lower lashes if I apply there at all. In this pic I have applied that way:

It’s much neater and natural result and very long-lasting. So ladies, don’t settle for just one mascara! And please give me recommendations of your favourite mascaras on the comment -section below 🙂

PROS:

  • cool packaging
  • volumising effect

CONS:

  • brush is too big
  • leaves clumps on the lashes
  • flakes out
  • sticks on oily skin
  • expensive
