I attended the Expat Traders Asia Christmas Fair this week and there was so much beautiful handmade stuff on display! I hauled some jewellery and accessories and this off-shoulder boho dress by Risaia.
Although I have to say, that I asked the seller if the material was cotton which she confirmed, and of course believed her, and it turned out to be 100% rayon, which is clearly stated on the label! So I feel a bit cheated. Also the fabric started to form lint on the hem after I had worn it the first time, because my bag was scrubbing against it :(((. Very overpriced with low quality!
In India I learnt not to trust any seller so I always double-checked everything on my own; materials, prices, quality, functions. Most of the time they have absolutely no idea, and just lie, or then they try to cheat you into spending money. So just be careful when shopping abroad. There I also learnt the word “leatherette”, like wtf is that? It means fake leather, so basically plastic. But when the seller says the word “leatherette” it sounds exactly like spelling out “leather” :O. Especially to a non-indian.
We strolled alongside of the Singapore river. There you can almost feel like you’re in Europe :). Boat Quay, Clarke Quay, Robertson Quay and River Valley are full of restaurants & life with a mix of cultures. I really love the vibe in Boat Quay and River Valley/Robertson Quay. Clarke Quay is more touristy and clubbing spot.
